Packing for Costa Rica
Costa Rica’s Central Valley has two seasons: dry (December to April) and green (May to November). Here’s what we recommend bringing regardless of season, plus tips for each.
The Essentials
- Passport & second photo ID
- Light layers (warm days, cooler evenings)
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Swimsuit (pool + hot tub at the property)
- Reef-safe sunscreen
- Insect repellent
- Wide-brim hat & sunglasses
- Reusable water bottle
- Power adapter (Costa Rica uses US plugs)
Dry Season (Dec – Apr)
- Lightweight cotton or linen clothing
- Light sweater for cooler evenings
- Hiking sandals or trail shoes
- Extra sunscreen — sun is intense
- Daypack for excursions
Green Season (May – Nov)
- Quick-dry pants & shirts
- Lightweight rain jacket or poncho
- Waterproof shoes / sandals
- Dry bag for electronics
- Extra socks (you’ll need them)
- Collapsible umbrella for day trips
Already at the Casita
- Linens, towels & pool towels
- Hair dryer (Guest House only)
- Coffee maker, tea kettle, kitchenette gear
- WiFi throughout the property
- Basic toiletries (better to bring your own)
- Mobility scooter for rent
- Wheelchair upon request
